What are affirmations/mantras?
Positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When we repeat them often, and believe in them, we can start to make positive changes.
Throughout my journey, I have only recently started using morning affirmations. I began to use them when I became aware of my self and my thoughts. At the time, my thoughts were quite negative and I always found something to complain about, especially me not being ‘enough’ as a mother while going through my heartbreak experience.
Once I started to become aware of my negative thinking, I made a decision that enough was enough. I wanted a change. That change started in my thoughts. My affirmations started as post-it notes on the bathroom mirror, but then the list of affirms started to grow. So every morning to this day, the moment I wake up, I grab my phone and write my morning affirmations in my notes. EVERY SINGLE MORNING, after I say good morning to my baby girls and tell them how grateful I am for them and before I look at anything else on the phone, I go straight for my notes.
The small actions of how you begin your day is so very important. Hence, why breakfast is the most important meal. Begin your day with good intentions, with love for yourself, with gratitude and see how your world starts to change. Mine did.
How do I know what affirms to use? These can be endless, it all depends on what you are looking for to change in your life. Find out where your negativity is, what do you want to change about your life? Could be about money, diet, health, love, confidence? Figure out what you think you complain about most, or perhaps could need, or want?
Mine? It was confidence. Then became goals. Now money.
Here are some Morning affirms I’d like to share to get you started:
I am the Universe. The universe is amazing and so am I.
I am abundance.
Today is full of endless opportunities.
I am a confident leader.
I believe in myself and my abilities.
I will celebrate small wins.
I choose to be happy and completely love myself.
Everything I am looking for I can find within me.
Now, these can change or you can simply make up your own. I did. Just remember to be consistent say them when you start to feel those negative thoughts coming. Pull your phone out if you need to and write them down. Takes as long as a simple text message.
Remember my beautiful souls, stay consistent and you will start to see changes.
